Life & Career Coaching
Organizational Consulting

Welcome!

"A coach is your unconditional support when you take a hit."

Thomas Leonard

Thank you for visiting my website to learn about the benefits of my life and career management coaching and consulting services.  You will find that the information on these pages details my services in a comprehensive and easy-to-understand format.   In particular, I hope you'll check out my Coaching Services tab.  This tab leads to information about the benefits of my coaching services, assessments that can increase your self-knowledge, presentations that will benefit your organization, and information about the monthly Career Management Forum I facilitate on the last Monday evening of each month.

Following are two sections with valuable information.  The first gives career management tips that apply to all stages of your career; the second contains practical tips to help jump start you in the event you face a job loss for any reason.

Ensure success in your organization--and career:

"If you aren't fired with enthusiasm, you probably will be fired with enthusiasm."

Vince Lombardi

  • Be visible in your organization.

  • Keep in mind that it's your value to your organization that counts.

  • Offer to take on extra projects and responsibilities.

  • Avoid participating in passing on office rumors and gossip.

  • Keep an ongoing record of your accomplishments and results.

  • Keep your resume updated and make sure it includes quantifiable data that highlights your accomplishments and results.

  • Develop a plan B and be ready to activate that plan if you do get a pink slip.

Tips to help you manage job loss:

  • Ask your employer about severance, COBRA and outplacement services.

  • Acknowledge the emotions you are feeling. Take a few days to let the loss sink in.

  • Activate your network and network everywhere you go.  Develop and practice your self-introduction.  Become proficient at using social media.

  • Develop a strategy to manage your finances while you're out of work.

  • Spend some time identifying activities that energize and sustain you when you're stressed and engage in those activities during your job search.

  • Consider whom you will ask for a reference.

  • Check out my Resources--->Other Resources tab for valuable reading suggestions.
